Weekly Bar Briefs, 5-24-2016

Dear Bar Members,

We hope you will join us today for the Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the District Courts. The Buncombe County Bar is hosting a special commemorative celebration in the Buncombe County Courthouse beginning at 5pm. All members of our local community are invited.

Chief District Court Judge Calvin Hill will serve as moderator for the event, which will include stories of the court’s transition from several retired Buncombe County judges, a proclamation from the City of Asheville, and the national anthem sung by a special guest. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. The event will be held in the foyer of the new Buncombe County Courthouse, and begins promptly at 5pm.
