Update from State Bar Councilor Anna Hamrick

Dear Bar Members:

The following email recently went out to all bar councilors:

Chief Justice Paul Newby is appreciative of the professionalism shown by the lawyers and judges across North Carolina. He would like to recognize some who have demonstrated professionalism and have gained the respect of their peers. He invites you to submit five (5) names of individuals in your district who exemplify professionalism and who are deserving of recognition. We ask for you to prepare a short summary of the reasons you think these nominees are worthy of the Chief Justice’s Professionalism Award.

I asked the Chief’s Justice’s Executive Assistant if I could solicit names from the Bar, and was told that is fine.

Given that, if any members of the Bar would like to send me names of those you believe exemplify professionalism and are deserving of recogniton, please send me the names, along with a short summary of reasons you feel that person should receive this award.  If I receive more than five names, I will contact the nominators to have a vote among those persons as to the top five (I have been asked to only send five names).

If you could please send me any nominations you would like to make by September 29, 2023, I would greatly appreciate it.  My email is Hamrick@gtalaw.net.

Take care, Anna Hamrick, State Bar Councilor
