Friday, September 14, 2018
11:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Western Carolina University – Asheville Campus at Biltmore Park

The Mediation Center is once again offering this 2018 program for those who did not attend in April. The program will be presented by Cynthia Vardiman, Frank Goldsmith and the Hon. Sharon Tracey Barrett.

3 hours Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit and 2 hours Continuing Mediator Education (CME) credit approved by the NC State Bar and the NC Dispute Resolution Commission.

This seminar will address a range of issues relating to the various rules, statutes and case law relating both to pre-litigation mediation of disputes, as well as to cases pending in North Carolina state and federal courts. The course will include the applicable requirements set forth in the Dispute Resolutions Commission’s advisory opinions and standards of conduct for DRC certified mediators. Add a boxed lunch to your registration for $10 if you register by Tuesday, 9/18/2018. You are welcome to bring your own lunch.

Every active MSC and FFS mediator certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission (DRC) must annually complete 2 hours of continuing mediator education (CME) certified by the DRC. As this credit is not permitted to roll over to subsequent years, this course is approved by the DRC for only two hours of CME for FY 2018-19.
