The Van Winkle Law Firm Welcomes Two New Associates

The Van Winkle Law Firm announced today that it has added two new associate attorneys to its legal team. Attorneys Delia R. Ledesma and Marie Claire O’Leary Smith have joined the team of lawyers in their Asheville office.

Ms. Ledesma’s practice focuses on divorce, custody, and the trial of family law matters. Delia is completely bilingual in Spanish and performs all legal work effectively and efficiently in both languages. Prior to joining the Van Winkle Law Firm, Delia worked in private practice as an immigration attorney, and as a family law attorney. Most recently, Delia worked as a domestic violence and family law attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina, gaining significant trial experience. Prior to graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2016, Delia obtained a B.A. in both English and Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Delia is also admitted to practice in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians’ Tribal Court.

Ms. O’Leary Smith focuses her practice on civil litigation and criminal law. She was born and raised just down the mountain in Chimney Rock, NC. Prior to graduating from American University Washington College of Law in 2019, Marie Claire obtained a B.A. in both English and Political Science with a Minor in Hispanic Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. She began her legal career at a small firm in Wilson, NC as a criminal defense attorney. As an attorney, Marie Claire enjoys being in court as much as possible and working with clients.
