Position Summary
The Senior Attorney provides legal services on complex matters to advance Conservancy priorities and appropriately manage risk for assigned programs and internal staff within the North America – East Region. They provide legal review and negotiations of contracts that may include real estate (purchases, sales, easements, leases, licenses, etc.), government grants, and service and procurement agreements. This position will report to a Senior Attorney.
The minimum requirements for this position include the following:
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
- License to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5 years relevant legal experience or at least 3 years relevant legal experience coupled with assumption of significant responsibilities for a geographic area or subject matter expertise.
- Experience negotiating complex, transactions and agreements.
- Experience working across cultures.
This full-time, exempt position will be based in a Conservancy Office in either Durham, NC and/ or Charlottesville, VA. Only applications that include a cover letter will be considered.
