Seeking Litigation Paralegal

This role will work alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from the initiation of a case to the discovery period through trial and post-trial findings and appeals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize documents and coordinate document productions.
Conduct the Bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents. Set up and maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter. Work with document management system on electronic productions. Under the guidance of an attorney, categorize documents by subject matter, prepare a chronology of facts and create production charts.
Conduct various document searches and factual research.
Create and maintain internal case databases, run searches on internal and external document databases and systems, cull relevant information from a variety of resources.
Prepare witness and matter materials for case preparation.
Organize interview memos, digests and other relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation.
Prepare for depositions.
Under attorney supervision, gather and prepare documents relevant to the deponent, organize exhibits and digest transcripts to summarize highlights of a proceeding.
Additional duties.
Act as liaison among various internal departments as well as with outside agencies. Oversee the progress of documents through various departments and/or companies and fulfill requests from outside counsel and others. Provide other legal department support as needed.

Education/Credentials
The ideal candidate will possess a four year college degree and a paralegal degree or certificate.
Candidates who possess a two year degree and a paralegal degree or certificate may be considered with significant related experience.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have been employed for at least three years in a paralegal capacity either within a corporation or law firm.
Candidates with a minimum of one year of experience in a paralegal capacity may be considered.
Litigation experience in the capacity of a paralegal is required for this role.
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office Intermediate Excel, Word and other office software. Strong Power Point proficiency;
Ability to prioritize effectively;
Strong communication skills both written/oral;
Ability to review and understand legal and technical documents, contracts, etc.
