Seeking Litigation Paralegal
Ward and Smith, P.A. is a growing full-service law firm with multiple offices throughout North Carolina. We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join any one of our offices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic; exceptional time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent client communications and service; proficient technology skills, including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite, PDF, and general online research; and meticulous attention to detail with strong proofreading skills. The paralegal must be able to work independently, collaborating with team members as needed. Candidate must also have a good understanding of the litigation and discovery process. Federal Court experience is a plus.
The role of the Litigation Paralegal includes, but is not limited to, assisting the attorneys in the acceptance, organization, investigation and resolution of litigation matters; drafting court documents including complaints, answers, motions, correspondence and memos; drafting interrogatories and other discovery as well as complex pleadings, conferring with all parties involved; docketing; keeping schedules; maintaining files; monitoring progress; and following up to ensure all required actions are completed.
A minimum of two years’ paralegal experience strongly preferred. A degree in Paralegal Technology or Business is preferred. Must have a NC Notary Public commission or the ability to obtain same.
