We are a small law office focused on real estate law located just south of Biltmore Village on Hendersonville Rd. We handle residential and commercial real estate closings, and also provide representation to local private lenders. Much of our work comes from long term clients who we work with on an almost daily basis. We have a relaxed atmosphere and high standards for accuracy in work product and communication. Our practice depends on strong relationships and communications with our clients and we are looking for an additional legal assistant/paralegal to become a long term member of our team, as a member of our team is transitioning to part-time.
The available position is full time, with a start time of 8:30 or 9:00 am. Real estate closing experience is required, though specific training will be provided as needed to integrate you into our practice and workflow. You must be a quick learner and able to manage workflow independently. Experience with SoftPro and ProTrust strongly preferred. Duties would include: working with lenders, agents, and clients to manage document flow and organize real estate closings; preparing settlement statements; preparing title opinions, drafting real estate documents; reviewing title insurance commitments; drafting engagement letters; opening files; and answering (prospective) client calls. Sometimes errands will also need to be run outside of the office–such as delivering or picking up documents locally.
Salary range depends on experience but is expected to be from $40k to $50k per year, plus bonuses and matching retirement contribution in SIMPLE IRA plan.
