Todd Williams is a career public servant who previously worked for nearly 15 years as a public and capital defender. Motivated by wrongful convictions in Buncombe County, he launched a successful 2014 campaign for District Attorney, unseating a longtime incumbent. As D.A. since 2015, he has resolved serious crimes while exonerating the wrongfully convicted and implementing rehabilitative services for non-violent offenders. D.A. Williams has also been a leader in justice reform through service on the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission and Courts Commission.
