Sam is an associate attorney with Blue Ridge Family Law Group, and he serves family law clients throughout Western North Carolina. Sam assists family law clients on all family law issues, including child custody, child support, equitable distribution, alimony, post separation support and other related issues, with a primary focus on family law appeals. Through his appellate practice, Sam assists clients across the State of North Carolina with post-hearing motions, filing appeals, defending against appeals and other forms of relief post hearing relief.
Originally from Winston Salem, North Carolina, Sam graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a Carolina Covenant Scholar, he studied public policy, political science, and philosophy, and was the President of the UNC Marathon Team.
Sam earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law, one of the top ranked public law schools in the country. While in law school, Sam served as the Executive Forum Editor of the North Carolina Law Review and worked as a Certified Law Student in the Civil Legal Assistance Clinic. Upon graduating, Sam was inducted into the James E. and Carolyn B. Davis Society, an honor awarded to eight graduating students each year at the University of North Carolina School of Law, which recognizes third year students possessing both academic and personal excellence and a willingness to serve for the betterment of the school of Law and its faculty and students.
Sam enjoys long-distance running in his free time, as well as hiking, playing strategic board games, and experimenting with new coffee beans from local roasters.
