I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I received my B.A. in Communication from The University of Arkansas, where I conducted my research on political and judicial rhetoric. I received my J.D. from The University of Texas. During law school, I worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Stephen Vladeck and Teaching Assistant for then-Professor (now, Dean) Robert Chesney. After law school, I clerked for the Honorable Denny Chin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. After clerking, I worked for two years as an Associate in the Supreme Court and Appellate practice group in Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP's Dallas office. I then moved to the Supreme Court and Appellate practice group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP, where I am currently an Associate. My practice is primarily federal appeals, with some state appeals and consulting on issue preservation in cases before trial courts.
