Bio: Profile and Overview
David Gantt, attorney at law, practiced over forty (40) years representing injured and disabled clients throughout western North Carolina. Now serving as an advisor at Bridgman Gantt Law Offices in Asheville, he continues to provide and share his experience and knowledge in pending Workers' Compensation, Social Security, and Personal Injury cases handled by Bridgman Gantt. Gantt was recognized by Martindale Hubbell, Super Lawyers North Carolina, and Best Lawyers in America for regular inclusions during his active practice days. He was also a popular speaker at Continuing Legal Education classes for the NC Advocates for Justice, NC Bar Association, Wake Forest CLE, and other organizations that provided legal education to NC attorneys.
Awards
Gantt was consistently recognized in most trial related honors during his career. Gantt was the first and only Western NC lawyer to receive the prestigious McKnight Renaissance Lawyer Award from the NC Bar Association in 2023 and was inducted into the General Practice Hall of Fame for lifetime achievements. He was also very active in local politics, elected to the Buncombe County Commission for twenty (20) years. During his time as a Commissioner, Buncombe County built or extensively rehabbed eleven (11) public schools, built a new Courthouse, enacted progressive environmental laws including the first Steep Slope, Blue Ridge Parkway Protection, and comprehensive zoning law, greenway/conservation easements program as well as funding programs that provided health care coverage for all County citizens.
