Partners For Justice Internship Program 2022

The Partners for Justice Internship program helped four local high school seniors explore careers in criminal justice. Students spent each day in court, in the Buncombe County detention center, in local law firms, or riding along with a deputy sheriff. The program, which took place July 25-29, was facilitated by Youth Transformed for Life Training Program, and sponsored by the Buncombe County Bar.

Libby Kyles, Executive Director of the YTL Training Program, said, “YTL Training Programs would like to thank our interns and their parents for taking a leap with us as we delve into creating and building relationships within our Justice System. Thanks so much to Judge Kepple and Lisa Gaye-Hall for sharing your vision and working with YTL to see it to fruition. Last, but certainly not least, thank you to every guest speaker, officer, and individuals working within our justice system for your willingness to teach, listen to and learn from these amazing interns. We look forward to next year with great expectations!” Learn more about the YLT Training Program here.

This year’s interns are rising seniors at Asheville High School, Buncombe County Early College, and Erwin High School.
