Development Officer – Henderson County
(15-20 hours per week, may be increased with successful fundraising efforts)
June 2014


Donor Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship in Henderson County
Develop relationships with existing Pisgah Legal donors in Henderson County
Identify new donor prospects and create strategies to reach them
Build relationships with the attorney community in Henderson County
Donor research

Plan and Coordinate Gatherings and Events in Henderson County to Raise PLS’ Profile There
Includes house parties and other small gatherings, as well as coordination of at least one larger event in Henderson County each year

Staff a Henderson County Development Committee
Continue recruitment of Development Committee members
Develop strong working relationships with existing Development Committee members
Host regular meetings of the Development Committee to engage them in PLS’ fundraising efforts in Henderson County

Community Outreach and Relationship Building
Represent PLS at relevant community events, including some evening and weekend events
Identify speaking opportunities for PLS staff at local faith congregations, civic groups and other places

Bachelor’s Degree
Five or more years of development experience, including direct donor relations work
Self-motivated, able to work independently and accountable
Detail-oriented, accurate and organized
Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience working with a database (Raisers Edge experience is a plus)
Residence and relationships in Henderson County are a plus
Good writing skills
Valid drivers license
