MLK Prayer Breakfast
The 34th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 8:30 am (doors open 8 am) at the Crowne Plaza Resort. The keynote speaker will be Prof. Thavolia Glymph, an Associate Professor of African & African American Studies and History at Duke University. Dr. Glymph is the author of Women at War, a study of the lives of black women and children in Civil War refugee and labor camps, and of Out of the House of Bondage: The Transformation of the Plantation Household, which was a winner of the 2009 Philip Taft Book Prize.
Tickets for the breakfast are $25.00 each (($30 beginning Jan. 1). Patron tickets are available for $35.00, and include your name in the program journal. Please contact Joe McGuire at jmcguire@mwbavl.com or 254-8800 should you wish to purchase tickets.
