Dear Bar Member,
As a member of the Buncombe County Judicial Bar, your annual dues for this fiscal year are $90. The deadline for your dues payment is September 15, 2025. A late fee of $15.00 will apply to payments received after September 15. Please note that, by law, failure to pay the annual membership fee must be reported to the North Carolina State Bar and may result in suspension of the member’s license to practice law. To comply with the state statute, payment must be received by January 15, 2025, to avoid being reported to the NC State Bar.
As you may remember, our mandated dues were drastically reduced last year from $150/year to $90/year. We invite all members to help us close the funding gap due to mandatory decreases in membership dues, an amount which now does not cover the services preferred by our members. If you would like to voluntarily add a donation to your payment to make up for the reduction, we will all reap more benefits, and please know our leadership is appreciative.
There are many benefits to membership in the Buncombe County Bar. The Bar publishes a weekly e-mail newsletter, and we offer each member their own page in the attorney directory on our website. Please make sure to log into your portal and update your profile if you haven’t recently. We offer free and reduced-rate continuing legal education classes, participate in the BarCARES program, offer informative programs and luncheons eight times a year, as well as a holiday party and spring picnic. We cannot offer these services unless there are funds collected to support them, to include member dues AND donations.
