Meet Your Bar Administrator
Heather Boeke became the Executive Director of the Buncombe Bar in 2024.
Originally from Fairhope, AL, Heather began visiting the NC mountains every summer as a camp counselor. After graduating from The University of Alabama, Hendersonville became her permanent home, and Heather began her career in event planning. It was during this time she met her husband, David, and soon after getting married, she became a full-time Mom. With 3 children at home, a background in organizing events, her love of experiential education for children, and her determination, Heather began researching the feasibility of opening a children’s museum. Heather’s volunteer role as founder of the non-profit organization changed to that of Executive Director, Hands On! opened on Main Street in Hendersonville in 2007, and it grew under Heather’s leadership for 13 years.
Upon resigning from Hands On!, Heather began Spark Consulting to assist small businesses and non-profits in opening or growing their organizations. She will continue to assist with consulting while taking on the Buncombe Bar Director part-time position and is excited to be helping the Buncombe Bar with events and communication. When not working, Heather enjoys playing tennis, hiking, traveling, gardening and playing games with friends and family.
