Registration is now open for the 2016 LGBT* in the South conference & CLE taking place March 18-20 in Asheville, North Carolina!
The annual LGBT* in the South conference is a project of the Campaign for Southern Equality (CSE), which is based in Asheville, NC. CSE is pleased to offer North Carolina attorneys an opportunity to receive 12.5 hours of CLE credits, including 1.5 Ethics & 1.0 Mental Health/ Substance Abuse, for their time at the conference on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19, 2016. The conference will take place at A-B Tech, Victoria Rd, Asheville NC 28801.
CLE Highlights:
-A landmark consumer fraud case presented by Sam Wolfe and David Dinielli with the Southern Poverty Law Center;
-A federal lawsuit challenging a discriminatory NC law presented by Luke Largess & Jacob Sussman with Tin Fulton Walker & Owen;
-A Mississippi adoption case challenging a law banning adoption by same-sex couples, presented by Meghann Burke and Diane Walton;
-Addressing the health insurance gap for HIV+ Southerners, presented by Carolyn McAlister, Duke Professor of Law & Health Clinic Director;
-A plenary session on criminal justice reform led by a panel of nationally recognized advocates.
