Language Access in Courts Listening Session

Do You Work With Limited English Proficient Individuals  In North Carolina State Courts? If so, the United States Department of Justice wants to hear from you!

The Department of Justice Civil Rights Division in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of North Carolina (USAOs) are working with the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts to improve the language services provided to individuals with limited English proficiency in the North Carolina state courts in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Representatives with the Department of Justice will hold in person listening sessions throughout the state in May 2024. We welcome your input, experiences, observations, and recommendations regarding language access in North Carolina state courts.  If you represent or work with limited English proficient individuals, join us for this important discussion.
