Pisgah Legal Services seeks free summer housing within 30 minutes or less from downtown Asheville for a summer law clerk who will be doing a poverty law internship with us from June 10th – mid-August. Elena is the daughter of Spanish immigrants who earned her BA from the University of Virginia and now attends Elon Law School. She will be providing valuable assistance to Pisgah Legal’s immigration team this summer. Elena is looking for pet-friendly housing where she can have her two kittens with her.
PLS is unable to provide paid internships for law students and many cannot afford summer housing in Asheville’s expensive and tight housing market. By providing housing you will help give students with limited financial resources the opportunity to work with Pisgah Legal Services to gain poverty law experience and explore the possibility of a career in public service. If you are interested in assisting with this need, please contact Beth Herrman (828-210-3787) and provide the following information: location of housing, housing set up, i.e. a room within your home, an individual or shared apartment or home, etc.
