Call To Action!

The Wellness Committee invites you to take action for mental health today! Take time to improve your wellbeing, whether it be through scheduling time on your calendar for self-care or signing up for a gym, yoga, or meditation session.

For those of you who have been putting off scheduling a therapy session or calling Lawyers Assistance Program to inquire about their programs for yourself or someone you care about, today’s the day to take action. Resources for attorneys include:

– BarCARESOffers lawyers three free confidential counseling sessions annually to assist with a variety of issues, including: stress, personal issues, family issues, work issues, and coaching regarding stress/time management. Call 1-800-640-0735.

Lawyers Assistance ProgramAssists lawyers with a range of issues and provides short-term counseling and crisis management, intervention assistance, and assessments. If you are concerned about the well-being of a colleague, you can also contact LAP to give an anonymous and confidential referral. Call 1-704-910-2310.

Join us for a great start to your day, with a 15-minute virtual meditation with Laura Mahr of Conscious Legal Minds. We’ll start with a brief introduction by our Bar President Sonya Rikhye at 9, then at 9:05 we’ll join together for a meditation. Click here to sign up.

To release the stress of the day, we have scheduled a yoga event beginning this afternoon at 4:30 online with Margaret Kirshner of A Mindful Emergence. Details and signup are here.
