Topics in Consumer Law & Advanced Directives for Seniors is a five-hour seminar on the topics of financial abuse and exploitation of seniors, guardianships, and other aspects of helping clients prepare for their end of life. This seminar is broken into two sections and attorneys can register for one or both sections.

Morning CLE Seminar: Guardianship & Elder Financial Abuse & Exploitation –  9am – 12:30-pm
Fee for all participants: $105


Heather Whitaker Goldstein: elder financial abuse and exploitation, including an overview of the scope of the problem and the various applicable laws, a review of  public and private and nonprofit entities that have a hand in the solution, short and longer-term solutions, as well as prevention strategies.

Victor Garlock: Proceedings for Adjudication of Incompetence and the Appointment of a Guardian


Afternoon CLE Seminar: Consumer Law & Advanced Directives for Seniors – 1:30 – 3:30

Free for MAVL/EAGLE volunteers and Pisgah Legal staff
$70 for all other participants
