2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Legal Ethics and Professionalism in the #MeToo Era
Presenter: Lee Anne Mangone

This presentation will provide a review of recent articles and surveys relating to the status of the legal profession concerning issues of gender-bias, discrimination, sexual harassment, and pay equity. The presentation will focus on the established standards of professionalism and consider how the principles of respect, fairness, civility, integrity and courtesy are implicated in these issues, and how the cultural shifts in society translate into real-life changes in the practice of law.

3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. – Using CBT Skills to Prevent Burnout and Reduce Stress
Presenter: Trent Codd

Legal work is demanding, which can result in distress, burnout, and sub-optimal work performance. This presentation will introduce several skills for moderating the psychological impact of legal work. Attendees will be able to implement at least two skills, derived from cognitive-behavioral therapies, to improve their well-being and enhance their work performance.
