Local attorney Meghann Burke will offer her perspective on the evolution of the National Women’s Soccer League Players Association as domestic women’s professional soccer players took their power back to negotiate the first-ever Collective Bargaining Agreement in history and bring about a reckoning and transformation of NWSL. Meghann works as the Executive Director of the NWSL Players Association, the labor union that represents women’s professional soccer players in the United States. The story of the NWSLPA is a story of the power of unions and labor organizing, from the perspective of an Asheville lawyer who learned everything that matters from the people who will hear this presentation.
