Current Civil Legal Topics & Poverty Law CLE (Free!)

Join Pisgah Legal Services and the Buncombe County Bar for a CLE program on Nov. 18 from 8:30am – 3:30pm in Asheville. The CLE will train volunteer attorneys for the Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyer Program, including Hotline attorneys, to help people living in poverty with civil legal issues. The training is open to any interested attorneys. Topics covered include: creditor/debtor/consumer issues, housing law, domestic violence/family law, public benefits, holistic legal services, and more. The training provides 6 hours of CLE credits, including one hour of ethics credit, and is free to any attorney who agrees to take two MAVL cases or volunteer for the Hotline or Lifeline programs.
