WHAT: An educational program for lawyers and paralegals on current developments in the area of military family law, including custody, pension division, and child support; landlord-tenant matters; addressing substance abuse and mental health issues; the latest on the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act; consumer law matters including auto finance issues; conducting military estate planning; and legal ethics issues.

WHO: This program is designed for military attorneys and paralegals working in legal assistance as well as civilian counsel whose practices involve military clients or issues. Attendees from all installations and those in private practice are welcome.

WHEN: 3-4 October 2013. The two-day CLE/CPE program will commence with registration beginning at 0830.

HOW: Register in advance online by visiting ambar.org. Registration Deadline: 26 September 2013.

COST: $100 fee for registration received before 2 September; $150 fee for registration received on or after 2 September. Active duty servicemembers, Reservist, or National Guard members, Department of Defense civilians, and military retirees are exempt from the fee.

MATERIALS: Participants are encouraged to download free CLE program materials beginning 27 September and will be emailed instructions for downloading materials.

LUNCH: Lunch on your own.
