Brian Elston joins Williams & Mills, PLLC

Williams & Mills, PLLC is pleased to announce that Brian D. Elston has joined the firm. Brian is a litigator who comes to Williams & Mills from Campbell Shatley, PLLC, an Asheville firm focused on education and municipal law.

Brian’s background includes insurance defense and general advisement to school boards across Western North Carolina. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a claims adjuster for Liberty Mutual and a deputy clerk of court in Mecklenburg County. Brian joins Reed and James in advocating for individuals in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury, and criminal defense. Brian’s practice will include employment law, general civil and business litigation, as well as the individual side of education law, such as special education and civil forfeitures. His experience in claims and employer defense will be of great benefit to his new plaintiff clientele.

Active in the Asheville community, Brian serves as the President of the Montford Neighborhood Association and plays in a number of tennis leagues. Hailing from Greensboro, he is a proud Tar Heel, graduating from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his juris doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. His wife, Mary Taylor, is a native of Asheville and together they have two sons, Ellsworth (“Worth”) and Edwin (“Win”).
