The Van Winkle Law Firm Welcomes Attorney Nicholas J. D’Auria to Trusts, Estates, and Elder Law Practice

The Van Winkle Law Firm is pleased to welcome attorney Nicholas J. D’ Auria to its trusts, estates, and elder law practice group. D’ Auria joins the firm’s Hendersonville office, helping clients find creative avenues for financing health care through public benefits, while preserving their assets. He helps clients control their affairs and decision making through incapacity and estate planning.

Before joining the firm, D’ Auria worked for one of the nation’s largest banks in the areas of trust administration, alternative vesting, and estate administration.  He received his bachelor’s degree in trust and wealth management from Campbell University in 2012 and went on to earn his law degree at Wake Forest University School of Law in 2016. D’ Auria is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the North Carolina State Bar Association in the Elder & Special Needs section, as well as the Estate Planning & Fiduciary section.

Van Winkle Congratulates Newest Partners!

The Van Winkle Law Firm is happy to announce our two newest Partners.  Brian T. Lawler, with our Elder Law/Trust & Estates group and Brian D. Gulden, with our Land Use team.

As an Elder Law attorney, Brian Lawler assists clients in identifying resources and developing plans to enable them to live long, healthy, and active lives. He focuses his practice on elder law, estate planning and administration, incapacity planning and guardianships, and working with adults and children with disabilities. Using a variety of planning tools, Brian helps clients who might otherwise be disqualified from public assistance protect and preserve their assets to supplement care provided by Medicaid, Social Security, and the Veterans Administration.

Brian Gulden practices in the area of civil litigation with a focus on land use and zoning matters as well as construction disputes. He has significant experience in representing Homeowners’ Associations as well as those residing in planned communities. Brian began his legal career in 1999 and, after a brief time in Shelby, transitioned his practice to Asheville in 2006. Brian has previously been a board member for Pisgah Legal Services and is currently an advisory member with the Kids in Parks Board.
