Attorneys Steven Sizemore and Charles McGee join Roberts & Stevens law firm

Roberts & Stevens is pleased to announce that attorneys Steven Sizemore and Charles McGee have joined the firm as partners. Sizemore works with Roberts & Stevens handling workers’ compensation and mediation, and McGee’s legal practice at Roberts & Stevens is concentrated in insurance defense.

Sizemore has more than 30 years of experience representing employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters. An Asheville native, Sizemore graduated from Western Carolina University and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University. In 1999, he also became a certified mediator, and has mediated hundreds of workers’ compensation, personal injury, real estate and estate disputes.

As a North Carolina Bar-certified workers’ compensation specialist, Sizemore provides representation before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and counsel to employers in workers’ compensation matters. Additionally, he provides education, training and management for workers’ compensation programs. Sizemore represents businesses that face challenges from the Industrial Commission regarding workers’ compensation and insurance coverage disputes.

McGee represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers and uninsured employers in matters before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and appellate courts. He also serves as a Superior Court Certified Mediator, represents employers and insurance carriers in subrogation claims, and counsels employers regarding compliance issues and insurance needs.

A native North Carolinian, McGee was born in Wilmington and grew up in Sanford before moving to Chapel Hill for his undergraduate studies and law school. After serving as a law clerk at both the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of North Carolina, McGee completed his move west in 2006, relocating to Asheville.

McGee understands the burden litigation can have on businesses, as well as the impact of medical and lost-time payments, administrative and litigation expenses, and losses in productivity and morale. He enjoys working closely with clients to support their complex and multi-layered interests while simultaneously helping to control their costs and mitigate risks.

Prior to joining Roberts & Stevens as partners in the firm, Sizemore and McGee formed the Asheville-based law firm Sizemore McGee in 2017.

No matter the complexity, Roberts & Stevens delivers outstanding service and conscientious legal work performed by experienced and well-prepared lawyers who put their clients’ interests first.

Roberts & Stevens is one of the largest law firms in Western North Carolina and serves clients across the state in a wide variety of industries, ranging from large corporations and governmental entities to family-owned companies, small businesses, and individuals.
