Attorneys Honored for Outstanding Pro Bono Service

Last week the Buncombe County Bar and Pisgah Legal Services honored exemplary volunteer attorneys and celebrated their generous pro bono service at the 2023 Pro Bono Celebration.

Pisgah Legal Services and the Bar honored:

  • Jenny Boyer, Younger Lawyer Pro Bono Award
  • Bob Clifford, Exemplary Emeritus Pro Bono Attorney Award
  • Doris Loomis, Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney Award
  • Cynthia Alleman, Lifetime Pro Bono Attorney Award
  • Stephanie Heller, Exemplary Pro Bono Paralegal Award

We are incredibly grateful to these attorneys for their compassionate and dedicated service, and to all Buncombe attorneys who provide legal help to our low-income neighbors.

We would also like to thank:

  • Judge Julie Kepple and Mayor Esther Manheimer for helping us to appreciate the pro bono service contributed by members of the Bar.
  • Asheville artist Jenny Pickens for making the painting that Pisgah Legal used for our pro bono awards.
  • Blackbird Frame & Art for donating frame of awards.
