Ashley Leonard Named Partner at Campbell Shatley

It is our pleasure to announce that Ashley F. Leonard has been named a partner with Campbell Shatley, PLLC effective January 1, 2024.

Ashley represents education and governmental clients as full-time board attorney and litigator.  She also serves as the Chair of the N.C. Association of Community College Attorneys and is a member of the Executive Committee of the N.C. Council of School Attorneys.

Ashley initially joined Campbell Shatley in 2020, having previously practiced law in Tennessee and Utah.  Ashley initially practiced as a plaintiff’s employment attorney in Salt Lake City before transitioning to the Utah Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Education section.  As an AAG, she represented higher education institutions throughout the state in Title IX, student, and personnel litigation.

Ashley, a Georgia native, moved back to the southeast in 2019 and worked as East Tennessee State University’s inaugural Compliance Counsel, overseeing the newly created Compliance Office and representing the University in Title IX, Title VII, ADA, and other compliance matters.  Ashley graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2013 after obtaining a Master of Education degree in 2010 as well as a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development in 2008 from the University of Georgia.  Ashley and her partner reside in Asheville, NC.
