As the Buncombe County Bar knows well, Robert Wilcoxson & Kenny Kagonyera are two Buncombe County men who were exonerated by the Innocence Commission. These two men could have focused on rebuilding the lives that were taken from them; instead, they’ve participated in events that bring attention to wrongful convictions and, more quietly, seek to give back.
Robert is hosting a fundraiser for kids at the middle school he attended in Detroit. The event is called “A Joyful Noise,” and the program will involve providing children with a hot breakfast, haircuts, warm clothes, and toys for Christmas. They are raising funds in support of the event, with the goal of raising $15,000 to defray costs.
As you are so inclined and able, please consider including A Joyful Noise among the noble holiday efforts you support this season.
